Most strength coaches have never trained a combat sport. Most combat sport coaches have never really lifted. So when you're trying to do both, you end up stuck between two camps that don't really understand each other.

I've actively trained and competed in combat sports for years, while lifting the way I coach my clients to lift. I know exactly what it feels like when lifting and your sport pull against each other in a tug of war, because I've lived it. My coaching is built so the two pull in the same direction, not against each other.
